Acrylics
Acrylics, like oils, have a
fabulous weight and richness of
color. Laurie's "impressionistic
realism" flatters her subject
while capturing his or her
personality. Acrylics are great
for any portrait, but especially
suitable for more formal
paintings.
Watercolors
Laurie's watercolor portraits are
loose and light, perfect for capturing
the spirit of youth, the brightness of a
day at the beach, or the nostalgia of
days long past. They are also a
wonderfully affordable option if
you're looking for something
not-too-big, but in color.
Graphite
Graphite allows for a
detailed likeness of
any subject. The
classic, grayscale
pencil portrait is a
favorite of many due
to its simple elegance.

If you have decided to commission a portrait, I first want
to THANK YOU and say how much I look forward to being
your personal artist! You will want to contact me soon
and share photos that I will be using to create your
special portrait. Photos may be emailed or sent "snail
mail." All original photos will be returned with completed
artwork.
It is possible to combine photos for a single portrait. I do this in Photoshop and email an image for your consideration. This way I can correct any mistakes in scale or detail BEFORE I begin the artwork. Wait time for portraits varies according to seasons and Holidays. Reservations are recommended 2-3 months before Christmas. I always try to meet special dates (birthdays, anniversaries, etc) if you ask early enough!
I REQUIRE PAYMENT IN ADVANCE to reserve space on my calendar for your commissioned portrait. 50% of the portrait price is due upon commissioning the portrait; the balance is due upon completion. I accept cash, checks, credit and debit cards. Online payments are through PayPal (you are not required to have an account with PayPal to make online payments). I also accept cashier's checks and money orders. I guarantee your satisfaction. Once your portrait is finished, I will email a digital approval image. I will only ship a portrait after I receive your approval. Your satisfaction is very important to me!
